For 21 years I was the Founding Artistic Director of The Children's Shakespeare Theatre in NY. We put on 98 productions before Covid shut us down. Here's Macbeth with a teen cast and a post-apocalyptic design. I directed 65 out of those 98 shows. For most of these I also made all the costumes and did fight and dance choreography.
I'm dedicated to making Shakespeare more accessible and enjoyable for everyone, and adaptation, modern costumes and a playful soundtrack go a long way towards inviting the audience closer. Here's a 1920s-inspired Midwinter Night's Dream.
This group of soldiers was made up of students + formerly incarcerated men from Rehabilitation Through the Arts. We came together to interpret Edward Hopper paintings as short scenes, with the guys writing and directing. These were performed at The Edward Hopper House and Museum in Nyack, NY.
